QUESTION 15
Who is typically involved in leading your most attended worship service? Please select all that apply.
An astounding 84.96% of the sampled churches employ a band as an accompanying ensemble for their main worship service. This figure implies that only 15% rely on pianos, keyboards/organs and/or orchestras as the main accompanying instruments of congregational singing.
The data indicate that large Southern Baptist churches employ a wide variety of musical ensembles who lead or accompany worship. In an era when many say that choir and orchestra are a thing of the past, almost half of the surveyed churches indicate that orchestra (47%) and choir (44%) are actively involved in worship leadership in their main worship service.
Noteworthy: 25% of the churches surveyed still employ the organ as an accompanying instrument to their worship services.
